Yea, I know. I haven't been writing in the blog/journal, whatever you want to call it. Ok, to catch you'll up to date. I played a terrific game of tennis with Senior M as my partner against one senior that teaches a course in tennis and another senior visiting that was a great net player. I was shaky my first service game, but from then on out I was awesome. I kept the ball away from the net player and picked the guy that teaches tennis apart as I moved him around the court. Senior played terrible! He kept trying to lob over the net player and failing. I finally had to tell him to stop hitting to the net player. Damn, it felt great to finally be in charge on the court. We beat them 6 to 2!
But then a couple days later, Senior M, Senior B and I talked another senior into playing a set with us. Senior M and Senior B were on one side and me and Bill on the other side. Well Bill, a nice tall old man that loves to play in spite of having bad knees, served first. On the second point, I hit a shot down the middle that sailed wide. Senior B turn to Senior M, who had gone for the ball (he's a big man who's legs hurt him so much that he can barely stay on the court for a game) and said. "I knew it was going long." Well Senior M exploded. "Why did you call it out. You made me go after it for nothing!" And they started yelling at one another like little kids. Bill look at them and shook his head and said. "I'm not playing with you guys." Then he walked off the court. I followed him and gathered up my bag of balls and when to court 7 (the one with the backboard) to practice on my own. My days of playing with the gang are over. They are too juvenile for me to deal with.
Ok, next news. Dieter and I might move to Alabama. That's where I'm from originally. Dothan, Alabama. We leave tomorrow to visit my sisters and look for a house. Now sure if we will put money down on one if we see something we like and then come back and put our condo up for sale for $180,000 or wait until we have a contract on the condo before putting a deposit down on a house in the Dothan area. We will play it by ear.
Here most of you guys are dreaming about coming down to Gay Fort Lauderdale and Dieter and I are moving back to a small town in the Bible Belt. Well like usual, I'm swimming up stream, just that way I like it. Yes, I'm ready for the quiet life of small town America. I think my blog/journal will be interesting as we adjust to the life in a small town, that is if we do indeed move. And this is happening just as I rediscover Chardee's. Yes, Dieter and I along with Sal and Irwin went to Chardee's after we left a nice Italian restaurant where we celebrated, my June 5th birthday, Sal's June 5th birthday and Dieter's June 9th birthday.
First we went to Tropics. Lots of people, but boring! As always I found myself wishing I was some other place as I watched the old and younger men milling around like cattle. I did see Alan who I adore. He's got a big dick and is a really nice old man (72yo, I think). But he only said hello and scolded me for not calling him before heading into the milling crowd looking for a trick for the night.
Then we went to Chardee! What a difference! There is a new attitude that come with new owners. God, I couldn't stand the old owner! Ok, so there weren't as many people, but they were all friendly and having a great time. I didn't feel like I was among a herd of cattle anymore. Chardee was pure charm as one old man after another stood by the piano and belted out wonderful song after wonderful song to an eager audience of their old friends. It was REALLY NICE and spontaneous. Chardee's is intimate! While at Tropics you are just one of the herd. Chardee's is a pickup bar! Tropics is a place only to nod at someone you know as you make the circle socializing... networking. That's it! It a place where handy men and home cleaning guys come to kiss the cheeks of one old man after another as they drum up business along with the usual crop of real estate sharks and hustlers. Yes, I fell in love with Chardee's again! Going back felt like being in the arms of an old lovers after a long separation! It just felt familiar and comforting like in a sex charged embrace of an old horny lover. If you haven't been to Chardee's in a while, IT TIME TO GO BACK HOME!
6/17/05 Friday 8:ll PM
Damn, have I been busy. Dieter and just came back from a week in Dothan, Alabama on Monday. I had 4,000 e-mails to go through!!! That's a lot!!! We both enjoyed ourselves. In fact we listed the Condo with a realtor. I'm not longer selling real estate even though I'm still a realtor. Thought it was better to let someone else do all the work. Even though there are over 5,000 units in our beautiful Wynmoor, there are only around 20 2 bedroom 2 baths for sell. So I hope ours goes fast, but it is summer and quiet with all the snow birds gone, so it might take until the fall before we get a contract. That's fine. Neither Dieter or I are in a rush.
Will I stop playing tennis? No. There a sport complex in Dothan with about twenty tennis courts, baseball diamonds, indoor pool, and a water slide that I will use. And it's cruisy! The jogging trails and wooded area near the tennis courts are hot places to meet older married men. Hey, every little town has a meeting place! Play a little tennis and then over to the woods to gave blow jobs to old men! Sounds like the plan to me!
Beside catching up with my e-mails, I've been getting the apartment ready for show. Cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning! And it will be an on going job to keep the apartment in tip top shape until we get a contract. And I've been in real estate long enough to know that the real work starts when you get a contract. I couldn't list all the deals that have fallen apart after the contract for a property has been signed. So even when we get a contract on the condo, I'll keep my fingers crossed until after the closing.
Dieter and I found a beautiful three bedroom two bath brick house about five doors down from my youngest sister in the town of Newton. Ok, so the chances of it still being on the market when we get a contract on our condo is slim, but there too I'll keep my fingers cross as the property would be perfect for us. It has a huge back yard with pecan trees and lots and lots of flowers. Ah, we have another dog so we will have to enclose the yard with a fence.
We got the puppy by accident. My sister and her husband had the kids down by the river that runs through Newton a couple of weeks ago. As the children were playing in the water (girl 16, girl 10, boy 15, boy 12) they kept hearing a noise on the far side of the swift running river. Finally my brother-in-law, Ricky and Nick his 15yo son wadded across. Nick climbed the steep bank and found a lost puppy. There is no house for miles on the far side of the river, so they couldn't figure where the little fur ball of a male puppy could have come from unless he was from a litter of wild dogs or someone threw him in the river to get rid of him.
They already have a young Crocker Spaniel, about 8 months old, so they didn't need another dog. But Nick talked his father into taking the puppy home. They asked around town but no one was missing a puppy so they were stuck with him. He looks like he might be a mix of Chow and something else. He's only going to grow into a medium size dog at best. But boy does he have attitude! He's like a little Tasmanian Devil! He will light into the Crocker Spaniel, which is twice his size, like a buzz saw. Maybe he's got a little Pit Bull in him. One night I took him out on his leash to do his duty. Well he wanted to go one way and I wanted him to go another so I kept pulling him as he jumped sideways trying to hold his position. Then like a shot he ran up and grabbed the leg of my pants and shook it a moment like he was telling me to bug off and leave him alone.
Cute! Very cute. Now I don't mean to say that he mean. He's not. He jumps up in your lap to give you sugar but then he wants to get down immediately afterward. It just that he's independent and doesn't like to be told what to do. Ah, a little like me! So, I guess Taz and me will get along just fine. That is if my brother-in-law can put up with the little devil until Dieter and I can get up there. Ah, I'll have to keep my fingers crossed on that one too.
Ok, will kept all updated on what's happening.
June 27 8:53AM
Wow! Lots has happened. We sold our condo the second day it was on the market! At full price! So on Monday after we signed the contract we rushed off to Dothan, Alabama to look for a new home. We had eyed a lovely old turn of the century house in Pinchard, Alabama. But found out that there was a contract on it. And that sat the tone of our search. We had thought finding a nice house in Alabama would be eays. Well, far from it. The market was red hot! We found a beautiful brick ranch with a great deck. Decided to think about it over night before making an offer. The next day our realtor called. Some one had put in an offer the same day we were looking at it. Gone! We change towns and realtors looking north in Newton and Daleville, Alabama. Found one near Daleville, a nice brick ranch, but it was in the middle of nowhere surrounded by trailer trash. No. Looked at other that need so much work that they frightened us away.
The next day we call our original realtor in Dothan. She said she had several more properties for us to see. She had gone up on the price range and we started looking at some great house. The first was a nice brick ranch with a large patio, then an older home with a wonderful patio and yard and wood floors. We both liked and thought that was the one. The realtor showed us two more brick homes what were shit and then she said. "I have another listing in this area, but it too much for you guys. The yard is huge and would command lots of work."
I told here to show it to us. "Well I'll drive buy and if you like it we can look inside as it's my own listing"
She drove by. The house was a rambling brick ranch with a two car partially enclosed two car carport with wonderful brick lanai. "I want to see the inside" I told the inside! I told the realtor.
We that began a journey into a dream house. The 1941 square foot ranch was just what we were looking for! It had 2 full baths and one half bath, a fireplace, a sunken den, a central vacuum and even a canning room. The kitchen was huge with an island. But what cause us to really fall in love with the house was the gardens. I can't really describe how beautiful the full acre of garden looks. It like waking through a botanical garden. There is every flowering plant that will grown in the Dothan area. And as you wonder through the garden, you stumble upon benches and a beautiful swing. To support the gardens is a green house, a large three room out building that we can easily turn into a guest cottage, and a free standing garage. And beyond that a half acre grass lot and all of the property surrounded by a fence. All of it situated in an older neighborhood in Dothan. Dieter and I both knew that never would we ever come upon such a wonderful piece of property.
I told the realtor this was the property for us. We went back to the office and wrote up the contract. The owners accepted!
We are waiting for the signed contract to be expressed to us as the owners live in IL. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that nothing unseen crops up the disrupt the deal! The we move into our dream house! Dieter is so excited. He looking forward to sitting in the shadowed garden and admiring it beauty. There's going to be lots of work bring the gardens back to full splendor and I am going to have to bear the blunt of the work, but I think it will be a labor of love. I might not get to the tennis courts as often, but that ok too.
So friend, keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well and we close on the property on August 25th. Dieter has named it Camp Roland.

Been a while since I checked in. Been busy packing for the big move to Alabama. Dieter's is very excited about the huge garden. That makes me happy because he's had lots of health issues lately. His breathing has been bad, he had chest pain off and on and pain in his stomach. But he a tough old bird and looking forward to moving into a house.
I had fun on the tennis courts lately. Have played better. The old guys have been very friendly to me. The group that I hit with is down to George, Willy, and me. But I'm playing a couple doubles with another group of old men. I have to be at the courts at 8:00 to play with them. I've played ok. Not great, just ok. But I've had lots of fun.
Several of the old guys have came up to me and told me that hate to see me leave. That really was touching. I guess I sold the old guys here at Wynmoor short. In the end the don't care that I'm gay. They all like me for what I am and not what I pretend to be. Hell, I think that if I stayed here in Wynmoor I might even have gotten to suck a few of them off. No, I guess I wouldn't have attempted to make a pass at any of them. That would have been sort of betraying them. But if one of them had come up to me and asked if I would suck his dick, well I would have probably agreed to do it.
So, I leave Wynmoor with very good memories. I think maybe I'll always look back at my days in Wynmoor as the golden years. Also the dry years. Haven't had sex with any of these old birds. Hopefully Dothan will have more action. These small town (66,000) can be very, very active. I'll find out if Dothan is one of those towns, I'm sure.
August 28
Well a day late in starting up my posting, but hey that's life. I cut back on the free galleries as it's costing me too much. If you want to see all the galleries, subscribe. Same goes for all the back months of my bog.
Dieter and I are in the NEW HOUSE. And it is beautiful with an outstanding yard. And we have a wonderful new 6 month old puppy. His name is Taz. And he is a smart little devil. He follows me EVERY WHERE I go. And cried if I leave him alone with Dieter. We are both already attached to him too much. He a mixed breed. Part Chow and Part Miniature Shepard. He's short and long with a Big Attitude. He's not friend to strangers, but once he knows you he a little Teddy Bear.
Ok, I have a new e-mail address hroland47@comcast.com Sorry as I have gone through two e-mail address changes in the past two week. First it was AOL just to get on line. Then Centurytel DSL. But the DSL line turned out not to be much faster than dial up on AOL so had to switch to Comcast cable. Now I'm up to seed.
I found time to play tennis twice with my brother-in-law and beat him both times. But he has a great serve so I've going to have to keep on my toes to continue beating him.
I haven't gone to the tennis complex with the clay courts as they are closed for two week for resurfacing. Will try them out as soon as they open back up. Hope to meet some nice old men there, and hopefully some that will play off the courts! I certainly didn't have any luck at Wynmoor. I keeping my fingers crossed that it will be different here.
Ok, that's the latest news.
September 13th 9:28 PM
Damn it's been a busy two weeks. First moving into the new house. Then getting all the boxes unpacked and putting everything in their proper place (according to Dieter). Then starting on the huge yard. Plus having my Sister, her husband and four kids sleeping over during the weekends. So I've been cooking for 8 and 9 people on Fridays, Saturday and Sundays. The ninth person is my 16yo niece's boyfriend.
And I haven't given up tennis. Although except for yesterday and today, I haven't had a chance to practice. But I've been playing with my brother-in-law and my two nephews 13 and 14 on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The first weekend I beat everyone. The second weekend my brother-in-law (45yo) beat me. This past weekend both he and the 13yo beat me in singles! So that's why I'm back on the court practicing. But I must say that I had a bad cold this past weekend not that I'm giving any excuses because my belief is "If you on the court, you're fit to go, mate!" And we did have to play a tie breaker to determine the outcome. And my nephews are good in all baseball, football and basketball. So even though they have only recently started tennis, they are quick learners. Andy my brother-in-law is very athletic and coaches baseball. He's played a lot of racket ball as well as tennis. Still I did hate to get bet so soon by them.
Yesterday when I went to the little tennis court that I've been using (the one near the high school with three courts, the one closer to my house has nine courts but the city closed them to resurface them. They will be open this weekend and are courts similar to the courts at the US Open. There are also 12 green clay courts in a complex across town that are just beautiful and another 10 in a private tennis club) there were two older guys playing singles. One was white and the other black. I practice on the backboard next to the court where they were playing. After a while the white guy, Mike, came over and asked if I wanted to play a round robin with they. I said yes. First I beat Mike in the best of three games and then I beat the black guy, sorry, I can't remember his name but from his accent he was from the islands. Mike asked for a rematch and he beat me in the second best of three games. But not by much. So that made me feel good.
Oh, I had my first gay encounter. Dieter and I went to Sam's club last Friday shopping for food for the hord coming on the weekend. I had to go to the bathroom at Sam's Club and had barely gotten up to one of the two urinals when a chubby gay about fifty came in. He said hello as he pulled out his dick and leaned over the partition and glanced down at my dick. Well I stepped back and glanced around the partition at his. It was nice. Uncut and thick although not long. As he admired each other's dick I saw his Sam's Club name tag. So thinking that he must know it was safe, I reached out and took hold of his thick uncut dick as he grabbed mine. We played with each other about two minutes. I figured that was all the time I could stay in the bathroom with out Dieter wondering what I was doing. So, I told the guy that I hoped to see him again and left.
That's my first encounter! I do hope it will not be my last!
I must say the older men here in Alabama are very handsome. Much nicer looking
that those old men in Wynmoor. Dieter and I haven't gone to the
Gay bar here in Dothan but I hope to make it there soon.
Dieter has been sick. I think he caught a cold, but I'm just not sure. It could be his heart or even his cancer as he's had a lot of pain in his right arm and in his shoulders near his neck. He been very weak and lost 10 lbs in one week. He's got an appointment with his new cancer doctor tomorrow and one with his new heart doctor near the end of the month. So, I guess they will probably find what's wrong with him.
OK, it late. Got to get to bed. Will try to post more often now that I'm almost settled in here in Dothan, Alabama.
September 21
So, I haven't written as often as I would have liked. Too busy! First practicing tennis. Then playing tennis on weekends. Plus trying to do a little yard work each day! Am making a little progress, but still have lots of work before the garden is back in shape. Also have my youngest sister and here family over on weekends to spend the night. There are six of them, so I usually wind up cooking for at least 8 people on weekends. And with the kids in the house, I don't work on the website on the weekends. They know I'm gay but still can't expose them to the pictures that I upload to the website.
Dieter is feeling better. He was coughing a lot but he had an appointment with his regular doctor and was given something for his cough and cold. He has stopped coughing. I think he'll be back to normal (for him) by the weekend. He has an appointment with his cancer doctor on Friday. He'll get his results from the bone scan he had earlier this week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the cancer hasn't spread to the bone in his leg.
I enjoy being back home. Home meaning the county where I was born and raised. Dieter and I took a ride that other day and visited the farm where I grew up. Of course everything is different. Lots of new houses have sprung up where there used to be cotton and peanuts fields. But still there familiar terrain that brings back memories of my childhood.
And I can't get over how handsome the old men are here. Wish I could meet a few that liked to play around, but that's not likely to happen as I don't go anywhere to meet anyone. I often find myself wondering what the old men that I meet are thinking when they see my earring. Wonder if they think I'm queer? Still I must say so far everyone been very friendly.
Ok, I'll try to keep you updated more often.
